A carbon footprint can be defined as the total amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases released into the environment as a result of human activity. Some of the types of activities that contribute to our total carbon footprints include transportation & electric power usage; production of manufactured goods, production of food, and use of plastics, & other non-sustainable products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carbon footprint of something can include any product we use as well as any product we purchase, from bottled water to packing materials to everyday products. All those products will have carbon footprints associated with them because of the energy used, emissions produced, & other environmental impacts during their creation, distribution, and eventual disposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
